Built in 1941 at Sixth Street and Harbor Boulevard for the ferries that carried workers and cars across the main channel to Terminal Island. The Vincent Thomas Bridge opened in 1963 and put the boats out of business within days. The building has housed the Los Angeles Maritime Museum since 1979.
