St Paul's, one of the first Gothic Revival churches in America
1818

Benjamin Latrobe, the second architect of the United States Capitol, drew this church and it was consecrated in 1818. He worked almost entirely in classical styles, so a Gothic design from his hand is unusual, and it stands as one of the earliest examples of Gothic Revival built in the country. The churchyard holds the grave of the Female Stranger, an unidentified young woman buried in 1816.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
