Saint Paul's Episcopal is the oldest church building in Waxahachie
Waxahachie, Texas
Renelibrary · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Bishop Alexander Charles Garrett dedicated this Gothic Revival building in 1885, which makes it the oldest church still standing in a town full of old churches. It is plain work, brick and lancet windows, with none of the carving the Ellis County Courthouse is known for. Texas recorded it as a historic landmark in 1965 and it went on the National Register in 1986. The Episcopal diocese parted with the building in 2002 and it has been Anglican since.
