George Booth of the Detroit News and Ellen Scripps Booth bought a Bloomfield Hills farm in 1904 and named it for the English village his father came from. In 1927 they brought the Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen in as architect in residence, and he designed most of what stands on the 319 acres: schools, an art academy, an art museum and a science institute. It is a National Historic Landmark.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
