West Homestead and Mesta Machine, which built the machines that made the steel
1898
West Homestead, Pennsylvania
The borough on the downriver end of the Homestead mills held axle works, brickworks and car wheel plants, but the largest concern was Mesta Machine. From 1898 until 1983 Mesta was one of the world's leading industrial manufacturers, supplying the heavy machinery other steel companies rolled their product on. The population was 1,872 at the 2020 census.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
