Ambridge is a company town named after a bridge builder
1905
Ambridge, PA
The American Bridge Company bought its land here from the Harmony Society, put up a fabricating plant and incorporated the borough around it in 1905, contracting its own name to make the place name. The 54,000 tons of structural steel that frame the Empire State Building were shaped in this town. The plant closed in 1982 and the borough has been living with that ever since.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
