The place was called Hoboken until Blaw-Knox, formed in 1917 out of two steel fabricators, put its plant here and became the reason most of the town had work. It incorporated under the company name in 1925. Blaw-Knox built paving machines and, from 1927, radio towers, including the tapered diamond shaped masts that AM stations raised across the country, and grew into a Fortune 500 company run out of a borough of a few thousand people. The equipment plant closed on the last day of 1991.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
