Travis Ranch turned 2,700 acres of Kaufman County farmland into a census town
2010
Travis Ranch, Kaufman County, Texas
Developers began carving house lots out of this stretch of Kaufman County around 1999, on land that had been ranch and blackland prairie. By 2010 enough people lived here that the Census Bureau gave it a name and counted it as a place of its own, and by 2020 it held 7,324 residents. It has no city government. This is what the outer edge of Dallas looks like when it arrives all at once.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
