Oakleaf Plantation turns 6,400 acres of pine into a suburb
2010
Jacksonville, Florida
A 6,400 acre planned community went up on timber land straddling the Duval and Clay county line, large enough that the Census Bureau drew it its own place boundary before the 2010 count. It held 20,315 people that year and 31,034 by 2020. A new high school opened for it in 2010 and pulled close to 300 students out of Middleburg High alone.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
