Founded in 1925 for Polish Catholics spilling over the Hamtramck line, the parish laid its cornerstone the following year and named its street after the founding pastor, Father Simon Kilar. The neighbourhood around it is now Banglatown. The parish school closed and was converted into 19 apartments that opened in 2022, and the church complex went on the National Register in 2019.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
