Polish immigrants working the Cicero plants founded this parish in 1895 and put up the present church in under a year, breaking ground in October 1917 and dedicating it in March 1918. Worthmann and Steinbach designed it in the Polish Cathedral style, twin towers standing about two hundred feet over the street. By 1920 it counted eight hundred families. Al Capone's sister Mafalda was married here in 1930.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
