Towosahgy, a Mississippian town on the lowland

Mississippi County, Missouri

A fortified village with seven mounds and a palisade, occupied for four centuries and part of the same Mississippian world as Cahokia upriver. The name is Osage for old town. Ploughing has taken most of the surface, but the largest mound still stands in a soybean field.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
