Toll Town becomes Green Valley, then the railroad passes it by
1874
Denton County, Texas
The settlement sat where the Sherman to Fort Worth stage line crossed the McKinney to Fort Richardson road, which is probably where the name Toll Town came from. The schoolteacher, Henry Clay Wilmoth, applied for a post office in 1874 and renamed the place Green Valley to get it. When the Texas and Pacific ran its line elsewhere in 1881 the post office closed and the businesses moved to Aubrey.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
