1903
Maypearl, Texas

The settlement had a post office under the name Eyrie from 1894. The International and Great Northern Railroad reached it, and on 25 June 1903 the name was changed to Maypearl in honour of May and Pearl, daughters of two officials of the line. Nothing about the town explains the name and the railroad is long gone. The population was 939 in 2020.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
