The Wood Worsted Mill, a quarter mile of wool under one roof
1906
South Union Street, Lawrence, Massachusetts
American Woolen built this mill between 1906 and 1909 so that raw wool went in one end and finished worsted cloth came out the other with no step done anywhere else. The main building runs thirteen hundred feet long and six storeys high and holds roughly seventeen miles of aisles. Locals called it the eighth wonder of the world.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
