Stone, steel and barbed wire money went uphill and stayed there. The district runs to 616 buildings, 517 of them contributing, in Italianate, Queen Anne, Prairie and Colonial Revival, with the Campbell House of about 1850 the oldest of them. It is the residential answer to the mills in the valley below.
