The Greenpoint Historic District
1982
Greenpoint, Brooklyn
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
The district protects the streets built for shipwrights, refiners and rope makers in the decades after the Civil War, a dense run of Italianate and Greek Revival rowhouses. It was designated in 1982, when the industrial waterfront that paid for the houses was already gone.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
