The University of Plano, a private college that lasted thirteen years
1964
Plano, Texas

Robert J. Morris, a former judge who had served as chief counsel to the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, chartered a private college here in 1964 and first named it the University of Lebanon. Classes began in leased downtown Dallas space in 1965 before the school took up its own campus in Plano. Morris stayed until 1977 and the university closed shortly afterward.
