This truss bridge opened in 1898 and still carries the Union Railroad across the Monongahela between Duquesne and the vanished town site of Port Perry, on a main span of 378 feet. Pipelines run along it too, piping coke oven gas from the Clairton works up to the Edgar Thomson mill at the northern end to be burned as fuel. Locals call it the hot metal bridge.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
