The Silver Spring B and O station and the commuter suburb it built
Silver Spring, Maryland

The Baltimore and Ohio put up this depot in 1945 on the foundation of an 1878 Victorian station that had already turned the crossroads into a commuter suburb. It handled intercity trains until 1986 and commuter trains until 2000. A local preservation group runs it as a museum now.
