The Chicago and North Western opened a depot at Geneva in 1882 and replaced it with the present building in 1931. For decades Geneva was the western end of the commuter run in from the city, and the line carried its name until service was pushed on west to Elburn. It is still one of the busiest Metra stops outside downtown, with about 1,700 weekday boardings counted in 2018, and Union Pacific threaded a third track through the town between 2022 and 2025.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
