Rockville station opens on the B and O Metropolitan Branch
1873
Rockville, Maryland

The Baltimore and Ohio opened a station here in 1873 when it pushed its Metropolitan Branch through the county, and Rockville grew outward from the platform. B and O intercity service ended in 1971 and Amtrak took over two years later. The Metro Red Line, MARC commuter trains and Amtrak's Floridian all stop at the same place now.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
