The Rankin Bridge carries the Green Belt over the Monongahela

The George Rankin Jr. Memorial Bridge is a cantilever span linking Whitaker on one bank to Rankin on the other, and it carries more than 22,500 people a day. The bridge and many of its approach ramps were built with tram tracks in the deck, all of which were pulled up once the streetcars stopped running. What is left is four lanes and two concrete walkways across a valley that used to move on shift changes.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
