The Marymoor velodrome, one of the longest outdoor tracks in the country
1974
Redmond, Washington
Redmond built this 400 metre outdoor bicycle track in Marymoor Park in 1974 and resurfaced it in 2005. The banking reaches 23 degrees in the corners and the sheer length earned it the nickname the Gentle Giant. It is the only velodrome in Washington, it is run by a volunteer association, and it has hosted the national masters championships and the junior national championships.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
