The Iron Triangle, the Richmond neighbourhood boxed in by three railroads
1943
Richmond, California
Three rail lines close around central Richmond and give the district its name. Shipyard work drew tens of thousands of Black and Mexican American families to the city during the war, and restrictive covenants across the rest of Richmond concentrated them here and in North Richmond. Macdonald Avenue running through the middle was downtown Richmond's main business street.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
