The El Portal opened on Lankershim Boulevard in 1926 as a single auditorium for silent films and vaudeville. It was made a Historic-Cultural Monument in 1993 and rebuilt in the late 1990s as three separate theatres. It is one of three monuments on Lankershim, along with Campo de Cahuenga and the old Water and Power building.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
