The NoHo Arts District takes its name from SoHo and fills with small theatres

Business and theatre owners in the Universal City and North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce set up an arts district here in 1992 with backing from the city's Department of Cultural Affairs, borrowing the shorthand from New York's SoHo. More than twenty professional theatres now operate inside a few blocks, alongside galleries, dance studios and one of the densest clusters of recording rooms in the western United States. Actors Alley bought the El Portal in 1996 and reopened it as a performing arts centre in 2000.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
