The Coraopolis Bridge is a recycled Pittsburgh river crossing
1927
Coraopolis, PA
When Pittsburgh tore out the third Sixth Street Bridge in 1927 to make room for one of the Three Sisters, the 1892 Theodore Cooper trusses were not scrapped. They were floated down the Allegheny and the Ohio and re-erected here to link Coraopolis with Neville Island, where they carried traffic for another sixty-eight years. The present girder span replaced them in 1995.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
