Key Bridge, the oldest road bridge left across the Potomac at Washington

Six lanes of reinforced concrete arches carrying Route 29 from Rosslyn into Georgetown, finished in 1923 and now the oldest surviving road crossing of the Potomac at Washington. It replaced the Aqueduct Bridge, which had floated canal boats across the river in a wooden trough. It is named for Francis Scott Key, who wrote the words of the national anthem.
