The Beacon Oil explosion kills 14 on the Everett waterfront
1928
Everett, Massachusetts
Beacon Oil ran a distilling plant on the Mystic River in Everett, part of the tank farm belt that still lines this stretch of water. On 10 February 1928 the plant exploded, killing fourteen workers and injuring thirty six. The river's role as greater Boston's fuel depot is the reason so much of Everett's shoreline is industrial to this day.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
