The Aurora Public Library, paid for by the Aurora Women's Club
1929
Aurora, Colorado
The Aurora Women's Club spent four years on card parties, teas, bake sales and amateur plays to raise money for a town library, and opened one on Dallas Street in February 1929 with $171 in hand. The city council took it on that October. Aurora still runs its own multi branch district, separate from both Denver and the Arapahoe County system that came along thirty years later.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
