The Alameda County courthouse on the shore of Lake Merritt
Lake Merritt, Oakland, California
Coolcaesar · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Alameda County finished its courthouse on the lake shore in 1934, a stepped Deco block that reads more like a civic tower than a courthouse. Oakland is the county seat and this is still the main building of the county's superior court. It was later renamed the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse.
