The 1724 Chester Courthouse, the oldest public building standing in the country
Chester, Pennsylvania
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Built in 1724, this building served as the Chester County courthouse until 1789, then as the Delaware County courthouse until the seat moved to Media in 1850, then as Chester's city hall. It is the oldest public building still standing in the United States. Three different governments used the same room before the city put its own offices in it.
