Terminus becomes Atlanta
1837
Downtown Atlanta, Georgia
AtlChampion · CC BY-SA 4.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Founded as the end of a state railroad line and called simply Terminus, then Marthasville, then Atlanta in 1845. Almost uniquely among major American cities it sits on no river, harbour or lake, it exists because the tracks met here.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
