The Atlanta and West Point Railroad ran from West Point on the Alabama line up to a junction outside Atlanta. That junction was simply the east point of the line, and the name stuck to the town that grew around it. East Point chartered itself in 1887 and now holds about 38,000 people.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
