By the late 1890s the Polish congregation at St. Albertus was too large for one building, so the archdiocese carved out a new parish in 1898 and put this church on Dubois Street. It is one of a ring of Polish churches on Detroit's near east side that mark how fast the migration filled the neighbourhood. It went on the National Register in 1989.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
