St. Charles College, the first lasting minor seminary in America
1911
Catonsville, Maryland
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
A bequest from Charles Carroll of Carrollton opened St. Charles College at Ellicott City in 1848, the first Catholic minor seminary in the country to survive. Fire destroyed the main building on 16 March 1911. The school rebuilt on this Catonsville tract, where it prepared boys for St. Mary's Seminary and the Baltimore priesthood.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
