Woodstock College, the oldest Jesuit seminary in the country
1869
Woodstock, Maryland
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
The Jesuits opened this seminary above the Patapsco west of Baltimore in 1869, the first of its kind in the United States. It trained priests here for a century before moving to New York in 1969 to work alongside Union Theological Seminary and the Jewish Theological Seminary. The school closed in 1974 and its successor research centre went to Georgetown.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
