South Heights changed its name twice for the railroad
1879
South Heights, Pennsylvania
The place started as Ethel's Landing, a spot where Ohio River boats tied up. The Pittsburgh and Lake Erie opened its line along this bank in 1879 and put a station in, and the town took the station's name, Shannopin. When it later renamed itself South Heights the station followed suit. Three names in one small borough, each one handed down by whoever was moving freight past it, and 384 people living there at the 2020 census.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
