Salt River High School, the tribe's own high school for seventeen years

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community opened this high school in August 2004, so its teenagers could finish school on the reservation instead of riding into west Mesa to attend Westwood. The tribe's education department ran it alongside a Head Start centre, an elementary school and an alternative school. The Tribal Council and the Salt River Schools board voted to shut it, and the last students moved on in 2021.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
