The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science lets teenagers skip the last two years of school
1987
Denton, Texas
The legislature created a residential programme at North Texas that takes about 375 high school juniors and seniors from across the state and enrols them as university students instead. They live on campus and finish with two years of college credit rather than a conventional high school diploma. It was the model several other states copied.
