Sachse spent six years misspelled as Saxie
1886
Sachse, Texas

William Sachse left Herford in Prussia at twenty, reached Texas in January 1845, bought 640 acres and put up the first cotton gins in the county. In 1886 he handed the railroad a hundred foot strip of frontage across everything he owned, and the railroad named the depot for him. Whoever lettered the depot sign wrote Saxie, legal documents copied it, and the spelling was not corrected until 1892.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
