Euless is named for the Tennessee settler who built its cotton gin

Elisha Adam Euless came out from Tennessee in 1867, and in 1879 he and his wife Judy built a house and a cotton gin south of Bear Creek, roughly where Main Street runs today. The gin became the centre of a farm settlement that took his name, and he was twice elected Tarrant County sheriff in the 1890s. Euless did not incorporate until 1953, and the southwest corner of DFW Airport now sits inside its city limits.
