Rockett started out as Liberty
1852
Rockett, Texas
Settlers arrived here in 1846, three years before Ellis County existed, and called the place Liberty. In 1852 it was renamed for John Rockett, one of the first men to take up land in the area. A post office ran from 1894 to 1907. Rockett is still an unincorporated scatter of houses on Farm to Market Road 813 northeast of Waxahachie.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
