Revere Beach was the first public beach in the United States

A rail link reached this three mile stretch of sand in 1875 and turned it into a summer destination for working Boston. In 1896 the land was taken for public use and rebuilt to hold crowds, making it the first public beach in the country. The Blue Line still runs to it, and its annual sand sculpture festival can draw a million people over a weekend.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
