Juanita Beach, the private lake resorts a public purchase ended
1956
Kirkland, Washington

Several private beach resorts operated on this stretch of Lake Washington shore and pulled crowds from across the region through the first half of the century. They were bought out for the public in 1956 and the twenty two acres became a park. It straddles Juanita Drive, has a pier, bathhouses and playing fields, and is the busiest waterfront park Kirkland runs.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
