Constitution Beach sits 2,000 feet from Logan's runways
1952
East Boston, Massachusetts

This man made crescent of sand opened in Orient Heights in 1952 and locals still call it Shays Beach. Its distinguishing feature is the view: aircraft using Logan's runways 22L and 22R pass about 2,000 feet away, close enough to dominate both the sight and the sound of a day at the beach. It is the plainest illustration of how completely the airport shares a fence line with East Boston.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
