Rancho Buri Buri keeps the name of the Ohlone village it displaced
1835
Millbrae, California
Governor Jose Castro granted 14,639 acres to Jose Antonio Sanchez in 1835, running from the bay up to the peninsula ridge. The name is a Spanish rendering of Urebure, a village of the Ramaytush-speaking Yelamu Ohlone who lived along San Bruno Creek, so the deed that took the land carried the word of the people who had it. South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae and the north end of Burlingame all sit on the grant.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
