Oak Point Park took Plano twenty two years to buy

The city started buying and accepting donations of land along Rowlett Creek in 1982 and did not finish assembling the tract until 2004. What it ended up with is 800 acres of creek bottom and prairie, the largest park in Plano, threaded with roughly thirteen miles of paved and unpaved trail. A 2,500 seat outdoor pavilion sits on the southwestern edge of it.
