Kaiser takes the bomber plant, then GM turns it into a transmission works
1953
Willow Run Transmission, Ypsilanti Township, Michigan

The government sold the Willow Run bomber plant off as war surplus and Kaiser-Frazer took it over to build cars. General Motors bought the site in 1953 and ran it as a transmission plant, making Hydramatic and other automatics for its own vehicles and for other manufacturers. Albert Kahn's original 1941 building was never demolished: it is still standing inside the fabric of the later powertrain plant.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
